Friday 13th - good for some....

...and especially good for those getting Diamonds today!

We have had a crazy week! We delivered one of the most beautiful Wedding Bands we have ever made to a lovely couple, who are actually getting married TODAY so best of luck to them, AND we delivered a stunning Engagement ring to a very nervous client who is popping the question THIS WEEKEND!! BEST OF LUCK for that too! We will follow up these stories with photos next week!Today we are finishing an unusual Black Diamond Engagement Ring for a very lucky lady indeed! Black diamonds have become increasingly popular since the latest Sex and the City Film was released and 'Big' gave 'Carrie' one at the end. They have always been a fav of ours at JKD so we are pleased to be able to work with them more often.MrsJKD actually owns a pair of Black Diamond earrings and they are one of her prize possessions!
Wednesday night saw the Party of the season, when the lovely Kat from RocknRoll Bride Blog invited some of her fav Wedding Suppliers along to Mezo on Wardour Street for a cocktail (or two) and a general chit chat. It was LOVELY to meet some of our fellow industry professionals in the flesh and put some faces to names, some of whom we have been speaking to via Twitter and emails for quite some time! It was a complete triumph and i cant wait to read Kat's write up about the evening (i hear Lady GaGa might come up at some point!) Kats Blog photo is c/o the BRILLIANT Emma Case CHECK HER OUT!

Good Morning - the sun is shinning in London what more could you ask for......another Wedding Supplier Wednesday i hear you cry...oh ok if you insist!
Today we have a cracker of a company for you, as we spent this week speaking with the lovely Ros from MOLLYS LITTLE BAKERY based in Swanley, Kent, which was launched in August 2009 so is a year old now - Happy Birthday MLB! They have had a fantastic year, and this is what Ros has to say about them:

After years of making cupcakes for friends and family & being told they were delicious, I finally decided to take the plunge and start up my own cupcake business. It wasn't a decision I took lightly but after lots of research, testing my sponge & buttercream icing recipes I finally felt ready to launch. Alot of our work comes from recommendations, which for us is the best type of advertising as we know we're doing something right! Cupcakes are so versatile, they can be as over the top or as plain as you would like. It's entirely up to you and here at Molly's Little Bakery we always listen to what the customer wants

Seeing our customers face when they receive their cupcakes is the best part for us! After all the work that has been put into creating them it's an absolute pleasure to hear great feedback & lots of 'ooooh and ahhhs' when they see the box! Especially when it's been ordered as a surprise, I'd certainly like to receive a box of cupcakes hand delivered in a pretty box - who wouldn't?!

Molly's Little Bakery specialize in homemade & handmade cupcakes for all occasions. Whether it is for a Wedding, Birthday, hen party or just to cheer someone up we can help. Our prices start from £1.50 per cupcake and for orders over 30 we offer a discount. If you want cupcakes for your wedding we offer a Wedding Consultation where you get to take home a box of sample cupcakes, we discuss design, flavours and of course the all important budget! This is a totally free service and available to any couple getting married so please just get in touch with us to arrange a date. We also have stands for hire - from wire, china & a 7 tier perspex stand which looks glorious when topped with our pretty cupcakes. We use only the best ingredients such as free range eggs so rest assured not only will your cupcakes look fabulous but they'll taste just as good!

We found that there was no middle ground with cupcakes - you had either the high end of the market, who can charge anything from £4 per cupcake which is something most people can't afford, or the lower end such as supermarkets where the cupcakes don't taste all that! We wanted to make cupcakes accessible to all and by starting Molly's Little Bakery we feel that everyone can afford cupcakes regardless of whether it's a gift box of 6 or 100+. We regularly run competitions and offers, such as Children's Birthday Party giveaway, fundraisers for charity and Summer discounts, so you get an even better deal on our yummy cupcakes. Our service is also a very personal one, I work alone so you deal with me from start to finish! We go through the design you have in mind and I'm always happy to offer my advice if you aren't sure what you would like on your cupcakes, if not just tell me and I'll follow your orders! We don't use a courier or postal service so rest assured your cupcakes will always arrive in perfect condition.

Matching Wedding rings...

We often get asked about 'Matching' Wedding bands - and although the woman generally wants more 'bling', more and more men are getting in on the act, and a set of bands we made recently covers both of these problems!



These BEAUTIFUL Wedding bands, designed for a recent couple of ours, are PERFECT and so unique. The womans band can have a slightly larger row of Diamonds, making the ring more sparkly, but you still have the matching element so many couples are now looking for.

Set in platinum, you also have the option to have both sides of the ring edged in Diamonds.

Wedding Supplier Wednesday - Love Cupcake

Sorry for our lack of posting this week – it has been MrJKDs 30th Birthday and we have been celebrating in style!

However – we are back with a bang with our wonderful Wedding Supplier Wednesday – and we have a real treat for you with the wonderful Gemma Vickerage, the baker and proprietor of Love Cupcake!
Love Cupcake was officially launched in January 2010 and is currently based in Chelmsford, Essex, although with a move on the cards the LC team will be upping sticks soon! However the move wont effect the very loyal customers!

Gemma says ‘After baking for pleasure for so long, and having so many people encouraging me to set up, with the support of my lovely husband, i finally decided to launch. I never really realised quite how big the cupcakes market was, there is no end to the styles, flavours and designs you can do, and for every occasion too!’
I would say that most cupcake bakers tend to just specialise in either cupcakes by post, or wedding cupcakes, but where we stand out, is we offer free local delivery (small charge for further afield) for our gorgeous gift boxes, all for an inclusive price. The boxes of 6 or 12, are brilliant for birthdays, anniversarys, valentines day, mothers day etc and are baked by me, decorated by me, boxed and tied with a beautiful satin ribbon and one of our cute tags and hand delivered by me to a home or work address of your choice. It's almost like the same sort of service you get with florists, except we do cupcakes, and theres no postman or courier to rely on, so all boxes arrive in perfect condition at a time to suit you - we wouldn't have it any other way!

I LOVE getting parcels with new cutters, colours and tips! Also experimenting with new flavours (Much to Mr Love Cupcakes horror as he can't resist cupcakes!) Plus the huge smiles we get when we hand deliver the boxes!


We're quite lucky that we don't need to do any advertising, all of our business is via word of mouth which we feel speaks volumes for our quality - Most of the people who receive one of our gift boxes go on to order themselves, which i am so proud of :D We offer a full bridal service with samples to help your big day perfect and we also have a variety of stands for hire, from our huge acrylic 7 tier, to smaller wire stands, and of course the gorgeous china tea party style stands (which i just can't stop buying ;) Our ingredients are always of the highest quality, the finest flours and sugars, free range eggs, and Madagascan vanilla and real high quality chocolate in our icings (Lindt/Green & Blacks etc) We wouldn't dream of using anything else, so you can be assured that your cupcakes are going to be of the best possible taste that they can be.
