Wedding Supplier Wednesday - Pollen Nation

Happy Wedding Supplier Wednesday!

Isnt it a beautiful day outside? We have the PERFECT company for you today, the awesome Pollen Nation. Check out the beautiful flowers, what more could you want on a delightful Spring morning!
Lets here what Alison has to say:
I am Alison Trickey and my company is Pollen Nation. I am a florist that specialises solely in my passion of weddings and events. I am based in Shoreditch London, and will travel as far as practical or you will pay me! Website is www.pollen-nation.co.uk
I established the business back in 2004, and Pollen Nation started life as a florist shop in Chiswick before we answered our calling in 2006 to concentrate on weddings and events.
I decided to start my own business as after a career in the Olympic rowing team, I really didn’t want to go for a job interview!
Why am I different? I genuinely love what I do, I have not only a passion for flowers but a passion for people. I enjoy chatting to clients first, then enjoy designing their flowers. I have no pre-conceived ideas for anyone on how their wedding flowers should look, I listen, then create.
Best bit about the working day is the early mornings at the market – yes I am telling the truth! Quiet time, before everyone is up, checking out what would look lovely for my brides.

I work from a large studio in Shoreditch with my boyfriend (OK technically fiance as of a month ago), he does commercials and films in one corner, I create flower mess in the other. I have 2000 sq ft of creating space or dance floor depending on how busy I am. The people at Kew Gardens, Fulham Palace, RSA, The Elvetham and Grays Inn among others love what I do so are delightful enough to pop me on their recommended suppliers list and at the last count I have designed and created personally over 450 weddings countrywide for individual brides with individual styles. More please...:)

WOW is all i can say! Ordering flowers for Easter? I think Alison is your girl! Thank you for allowing us to feature you! We adore your work!

Have a lovely day!

Wedding Supplier Wednesday - Temple Gregory Wedding Planners

Happy Wedding Supplier Wednesday!

We hope you have had a good week in the sunshine! Hasn’t it been lovely.

Today we are featuring the awesome Rebecca Gregory of Temple Gregory Wedding Planners, lets hear what she has to say:

When did you establish your business?

I started wedding planning part time over 5 years ago, but took the plunge and went full time, setting up Temple Gregory properly, over 3 years ago.

Why did you decide to start your own business?

I was originally a lawyer and really hated it - I wanted to do something creative, whilst working for myself and starting Temple Gregory was the best decision I ever made. I now LOVE what I do and I could never say that as a lawyer!

Where are you based? (UK location, website etc)

Based in Winchester (Hampshire) and London, but cover weddings throughout the South East. Also do weddings abroad where brides are so inclined :)

http://www.templegregory.co.uk/

How are you different from others offering the same/similar services?

Temple Gregory plans and designs luxury weddings, ensuring that every last detail is meticulously organised and utterly fabulous, so that at the end of it all my couple would not change a thing!

As well as the meticulous organisation and control of all admin and logistical matters, wedding design is also a very important part of what I do. A wedding should run smoothly but also look and feel fabulous and I think that both of these aspects create the perfect day.

I also have great suppliers that I work with who create amazing flowers, stationery, entertainment etc which all really go towards making the day.

What’s the best bit about your working day?

One of my brides said I was like her fairy god mother yesterday - that was nice! Apart from that I love most things - I genuinely love weddings and my brides and could not be happier doing anything else.

I think you can see by the photographs Rebecca certainly knows what she is doing!! For more info check out her blog: http://blog.templegregory.co.uk/

Thanks you for allowing us to feature you!!

Wedding Supplier Wednesday - Wedding Belles of Otley

Happy Wedding Supplier Wednesday! We hope you are having a lovely week?

We have a treat for you today!! We are featuring the Wedding Ideas Magazine Highly Commended Bridal Shop Wedding Belles of Otley…lets hear all about them:

Having grown up in Oxfordshire, I moved to beautiful Yorkshire seven years ago when I met the man who is now my husband.

I absolutely loved planning my own wedding and particularly enjoyed paying close attention to little details all the way through. All the effort paid off and we had a fabulous wedding day in 2006 that was filled with little quirky touches and details that our guests seemed to love. From my own experiences, I know how wonderfully exciting planning a wedding can be, but also know how stressful the experiences can be.

Having worked previously in the bridal industry, the opportunity came along in 2008 for me to open up a bridal boutique of my own. It was a chance I simply couldn’t pass up!

When I was looking for my own dream dress, I had a wonderful experience in some shops, but visits to other bridal shops were a complete disaster and I became very upset at times with the experiences I received. With this in mind I wanted to make a difference to the bridal buying experience and to create a modern spacious bridal boutique with a cozy relaxed personal service.

So this is where Wedding Belles of Otley was born. We opening our doors on the 6th September 2008 and hit the ground running.

Our bridal boutique is based in a beautiful courtyard just off the Market Place in Otley’s town centre. We are well situated to attract brides-to-be from the nearby towns and cities of Skipton, Harrogate, Leeds and Bradford, but as word of mouth spreads and our reputation builds, we are increasingly seeing brides from much further afield.

We supply some of the most prestigious bridal gowns around from leading award winning designers such as Alan Hannah, Mark Lesley Bride, Mark Lesley Couture, Nicola Anne and Trudy Lee. We will also be adding to our labels in the next few weeks with new gowns from Romantica of Devon.

The collections reflect individuality, grace, timeless elegance and quality. We have excellent relationships with all our suppliers, and hold special designer events through the year where brides-to-be can come along, enjoy a glass of bubbly and nibbles and meet the designer in person to discuses their wedding and ideal dress. We run some great offers to coincide with the events too!!

When a bride-to-be and their family and friends come to Wedding Belles of Otley they are made to feel completely relaxed as they browse through our stunning collections of gowns. We supply refreshments of bubbly, tea or coffee in a relaxed informal atmosphere and we have a large private fitting area where guests can sit comfortably while we focus on the bride-to-be and help her to find her perfect wedding gown – not just the gown they will wear on their big day, but a gown that they will fall in love with!

I am very passionate about what we do here at Wedding Belles and I love to help brides find their dream wedding dress. My main aim is to focus on every single bride and give her the bridal buying experience that she always imagined - delivering a first-class service with close attention to every detail.

Wedding Supplier Wednesday - Boho Weddings and Events

Happy Wedding Supplier Wednesday!

WOW, what a beautiful day! Long may it continue!!!! To add more sunshine to your life, today we are featuring the truly awesome Kelly Hood, the Wedding Planner and Wedding Blogger behind the brilliant Boho Weddings and Events
Lets here what Kelly has to say:
I’m based in Sheffield, and plan weddings across the whole of Yorkshire, Cheshire, Manchester, the East Midlands and Ibiza. Basically within a 2 hour radius of where I live. My blog is reaching right across the world which I’m really chuffed about.

Photographer:http://www.s6photography.co.uk/

I started researching the idea and going on business courses in June 2009, My website went live in December 2009 and I did my First wedding on 29th Dec 2009.

It’s the cliché story…I got married myself and loved the planning process so much that I just didn’t want to let it go. I’d done a lot of event planning for charities before that, so when I was planning my wedding I could see how I could tie the experience from both together. I got made redundant on the last day of my honeymoon, so decided that it was the push that I needed to work for myself. There wasn’t a whole load of jobs in the market place at the time, so I decided to make my own job…………I haven’t looked back since!

I have to admit I have seen a growing number of wedding planners pop up in my area, and across the country, but we are all different. I purposely set out to create and plan weddings for the more unconventional couple, so focusing on the more non-traditional weddings. I have marketed myself that way and luckily I have got a whole host of really wonderful couples to work with.
I also cover weddings in Ibiza, which sets me aside from most wedding planners in this country. People seem to like the fact that they can meet and talk to a wedding planner in the UK who has actually done it themselves.
Also this is my full time job, so I can dedicate myself to my couple 100%. I couldn’t do this alongside another job, it’s all consuming and you need to be totally dedicated.

What’s the best bit about your working day?

Wow that’s a tough question. I love meeting couples for the first time and finding out more about them and what plans they have, I’m a people person so love the fact that I can talk about weddings all day! I also love the creative elements of my job, coming up with new ideas for my couples, sourcing new inspiration. I love meeting them at the venue and brainstorming with them, I do go off into my own little wedding bubble! I also love the actual planning, tacking a list of things the couple need to do and break all the jobs into monthly to do lists……I’m very structured and live my life on a constant time line (I know how sad) so I love implementing some sort of order into other people’s lives.
But the best bit has to be watching the couple get married, after all that is what it is all about. Being present at someone’s wedding really is such a special privilege!

I work with all sorts of brides with a variety of budgets ranging from £2K - £40K. I have a huge range of services starting with the Boho Hour, going up to the Boho planning workshop, design and styling service, guest management, supplier search, venue search, on the day co-ordination, the rescue remedy, partial planning and full co-ordination. So anyone can use a planner it isn’t just for the rich and famous.
The venue search, on the day co-ordination and partial planning are the most popular.
I am about to launch a selection of other services in the next few weeks, including photo booth hire, and a DIY making service……….watch this space.
And as for the blog my numbers have been growing well over the last few months so I feel I am now ready to take on sponsors, again watch this space!
